Digital Scrapbooking

If you want to try out digital scrapbooking, you will need the software to use for your tasks. Just go on Google and type in “free scrapbooking software”, “scrapbooking software trial version” or something similar to see what come up.

There are several specialized scrapbooking software that are now available on the market, like My Memories Suite, Memory Mixer, Digital Scrapbook Artist, and Scrapbook Boutique (just to name a few).

What you most need in a digital scrapbooking software are the ability to edit photos, replace/edit backgrounds, change the colors and patterns, add texts, and add/edit borders.

Like I mentioned beforehand, you always have the option of using free scrapbooking software for your projects, instead of the trial versions or purchasing the software outright. At the most, I suggest using these free scrapbooking software for basic projects only.

The camera I use now has 6mp and does a great job. However, the megapixel count used in dslr cameras continues to grow and the standard amount has now gone past 10mp to 12mp and some have 15mp or even 20mp !! Sensor self-cleaningThe heart of the digital camera is the sensor and eventually some dust will find its way onto it. There are many solutions given for this for cameras which have no self cleaning mechanism.Microscopic dust particles can get on your digital SLR sensor when you remove the camera lens. Self-cleaning sensors vibrate to prevent and eliminate; digital SLR sensor dust. JPEG ; RAW capabilityJPEG; is probably the most popular type of image used on digital cameras now.

As digital cameras continue to grow in popularity, traditional film cameras will become a thing of the past.

The trade off to a higher megapixel camera is a larger file size per photo.

Zoom

Most cameras come with between 3X and 12X Optical Zoom.

The second type of zoom is the Digital Zoom. Pretty much all cameras have some sort of digital zoom, and less expensive cameras may have no optical zoom at all, but the digital zoom will be there. The clarity difference is less obvious in a higher megapixel camera.

Although most cameras come with either a small card or a small amount of internal memory to store pictures on, many will not hold more then 10 or 15 pictures.

With a 3 megapixel camera, a 1 gigabyte card will hold over 800 pictures. That number goes lower with a higher megapixel camera.

Some camera’s come with a specialized rechargeable battery pack that is designed specifically for that camera. These particular cameras will also come with a charger.

For most people, a simple “point and shoot” camera is adequate. Cameras with a larger optical zoom tend to be larger, and would not fit in your shirt pocket.

Digital cameras have changed the photography. There are many children who want to take their own pictures by using these expensive cameras. Fisher-Price realized the need and has developed the very first digital camera just for kids called the Kid Tough Digital Camera. This quality allows to resist the interior parts of the camera from water. So get this Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera for your child for Fisher upcoming holidays and festival, and sure they will leave your digital camera.

The three main files a digital camera uses to store its digital images are JPEG, TIFF, and RAW formats. Plus it is fastest writer from the camera memory buffer to the memory card storage.

The TIFF is a file format used for storing images such as line art and photographs, developed by Aldus, now Adobe Systems, and Microsoft. A popular format for high color depth images, it is supported by many image-manipulation programs such as Pagemaker, QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Paint Shop Pro, etc. It is extremely high in its image quality, with excellent compatibility with the publishing companies.

Tiff can be modified and resaved, with the images being used an endless number of times without throwing away any image data. Plus the image is extremely usable, as it does not require software post-processing during or after its download from the camera. During photography shoots, memory cards are needed if using TIFF images, but more pictures can be taken with the same amount of memory space.

You can now download this image on your computer for processing. This means that you will need a very large storage area or memory space if you are going to shoot images in RAW format. Also, you can shoot very few photographs if you select the RAW mode. Also, this mode is generally not accepted by the publishing industry because it produces a 12-bit image.

Overall, if a photographer wants to keep all the original image data that was recorded, the image must be stored in RAW format.
